ABOUT

Valerie Trapp is a writer and performer. Currently, she's an assistant editor on The Atlantic's Culture team. You can find her writing in The Atlantic, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists' palabra., USA Today's ReviewedSTANFORD Magazine, and Stanford Daily, among others. 

 

As a performer, Valerie studied classical ballet for 12 years and danced with Los Salseros de Stanford. She has appeared in various musicals, plays, and short films over the past five years, including performing a monologue at Lincoln Center.

Born to a Dominican mom and a German dad, she was raised between Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and Orlando, Florida. She graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in English and minors in International Relations and Human Rights. She is fluent in Spanish, German, English, and French.
